Dear Melissa,
Letter From the Editor:
WHAT YOU NOTICE MATTERS! And, what I notice is that if you keep "dream- boarding" and envisioning your dreams, your hopes for the future will appear. This is true even if you are still thinking "incrementally." That's the amazing thing about dream boards -- it's a safe place to imagine BIG, even as you are taking smaller steps along your path.
Lately the Universe has been WOWING me with huge leaps forward. Must be all that momentum I kept putting into my dream boards (pictures of waterfalls, running facets, fire meeting water, planes in flight, fireworks, and "racing" ahead).
First, out of the blue a reporter called from The Seattle Times for an interview. The article: "Shoot the Breeze with Ease," was a great end of the year gift for which I have great appreciation!
Then, I got a call from an event organizer for Peak Potentials Training. She wanted to know if I would consider doing a seminar for 1000 people. This was huge! I knew I had to say "Yes" despite my stomach doing flip- flops in nervous excitement.
Remember that in addition to what you plan for, there are opportunities out in the world, coming your way, that you might not have imagined, but that are perfect for you. So set plans for 2008 that excite you and always stay open to the possibility that you may need to be ready to accept much bigger challenges. Sometimes the magic is in the planning to be ready. It seems to invite the result in!
If you haven't begun "envisioning" your future, this is a great time to begin a regular practice of creating dream boards that help you build a habit of positive regard for your dreams and desires.
Happy New Year to you all! May your dreams be just the beginning of wild and wonderful life adventures in 2008!
I'd love to hear from you. Let me know what you're noticing! Let me know what challenges you face as you stay aware of your particular life path. Send all your comments, ideas and questions to me at: wadscomm@msn.com or online at: www.melissawadsworth.com
| Eight Remarkable Resolutions For 2008! |
 |
|
I called upon wise friends and experts around the globe to offer their heart-felt resolutions to you. Here are some inspiring thoughts and advice to consider for 2008! You'll be happy to know that tou won't find a "lose weight," or "stop smoking" among them!
Resolution #1 from Catherine Bradford, host of "The Wellness Roadshow: Searching for Whole Being."
"Trust Your Path; Trust Yourself. Life offers each of us unlimited possibilities. No matter how well traveled a road may be, no two paths are alike. See yourslef, awayss and completely, for who you are: unique in your gifts, remarkable in your abilities, important in your purpose. Remember that what you are here to be and offer is but a piece of the whole, and remembering your connection to others is the key to creating greatness. Remain steadfast on your path, no matter how different or difficult, for this path has been chosen by you, for you, inyour infinite wisdom. Trust yourslef, always, along the way.
Resolution #2 from Chris Walker, Law of Nature expert, author and teacher and Nepal treker.
Of all the resolutions you choose for 2008, resolve to LOVE more.
In our consumer world it is easy to get trapped in the desire for more, bigger and better, and to therefore limit our potential to love. All the materials we can gather, collect, improve or make better are transient, except for love. Love can grow each year, but only if we find more stillness.
To love more, go back and reconnect to nature to find your true nature. Forget global warming and green house gasses just for a while; empty your mind of rattles and desires, just be empty. This stillness needs no instruction. You cannot want it, that's consumerism. Simply go into nature and play. Go alone or with a friend.
Your true nature really wants nothing. It is already full. Love more in 2008 and you will have all that the universe intends for you, all the abundance your heart desires. We are the environment we create. So grow in abundant love.
Resolution # 3 from Jean Lawler, naturopathic physican, teacher, and seminar leader.
If I had to offer just one New Year's resolution it would be to breathe deeply from the very core of one's being.
Breathing is the symbol of life and yet how few of us utilize it properly. Most of us live on edge, waiting for the next crisis to hit, and that takes a toll on our health. But if, during times of intensive stress, we would just breathe, we'd find most of our built-up tensions defusing.
Simply inhale through the nostrils deeply until one's abdomen protrudes, and then slowly exhale through the mouth. Start with ten breaths, preferably on waking and then on going to bed. Ultimate goal: 100 deep breaths per day!
Resolution # 4 from Karen Burns, author and career expert.
Cheer for your Career in 2008!
If you already love your job -- share the love! Tell your boss and coworkers you appreciate them, mentor a newbie, learn one new skill to make you even more effective at waht you do, take at least one vacation where you don't think about work at all!
If you con't love your job - - Make this the year of career changes! Start by asking yourself: "What do I want?" Then write down the answers. Read What Color Is Your Parachute? Try a Vocation Vacation, consider working with a career coach, interview people in fields that interest you, identify what new skills you need, take steps to get them, and make a move.
You spend a third of your life (or more) working. make it loverly.
Resolution #5 from Sarah Taylor, author and vegan expert.
Set your New Year's Resolution on your birthday. After all, that is the beginning of your New Year, and you'll be much more likely to stick with something that's tied to your special date.
Resolution #6 from Sharon Senger, real estate expert.
This year I paid attention to what I notice, and used the Law of Attraction to attract the perfect horse into my life, and my intention is to find time to ride her this year. So I encourage everyone to envision what you want your life to look like, write it down (Stanford University did a study that shows people who write their goals down are more likely to achieve them), and make it happen!
Resolution #7 from Lily Lee, restauranteur.
Resolve to have Peace of Mind. Bring your life into managable chaos. Get clarity about the life you want to live -- the lifestyle, your daily schedule, the people you want to interact with. Mediate on your goals and see what arises in that stillness.
Re solution #8 from Gloria Two-Feathers, energy school founder.
Listen to your inner voice. The inner voice that comes from the core of your being is your best guide. Resolve to create an internal experience of life (joyful, wise, at peace, healthy) that is not dependent on your external environment.
