Accessing Your Inner Decision-Maker and Visionary

On Friday I presented a talk called “Accessing Your Inner Decision Maker and Visionary,” that resonated strongly with the participants.

There were lots of comments like: “I need to listen to my intuition,” “I want to be calm and relaxed but I’m so stressed out right now,” “my decision-making compass is not right on,” “I want to step into more of who I am.”

So often your inner critic or the fearful ego is the voice you hear rather than your inner sage. By focusing on ways to develop your intuition and to connect to your wise inner voice, you are able to feel on track and will be empowered by the decisions you make. You’ll know you’re on the right track when you question your decisions less.

More importantly, by connecting your inner wisdom you begin to FEEL how your dreams can be bigger and bolder than your “everyday” thinking mind can imagine.

Here are a few things to try:

  1. Try Seeking SoulutionsTM. Notice what catches your attention. Nothing is coincidental or random. The universe supports your dreams and desires and is sending you people, resources, books, classes, happenings in nature, etc. that can help give you direction. Try picking one picture from a magazine and writing for five minutes about what that one picture tells you. Free-associate. Don’t worry that if what you write doesn’t make “logical” sense. Try not to judge the information. Just accept it. This helps you seek and trust inner guidance. You’ll be amazed at what you can learn about yourself.
  2. Access Your Power InnerViewsTM. Albert Einstein said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imaginations points to all we might yet discover and create.” I often empower my imagination with dream boards, but you can do it without any materials at all. Empower your imagination by visualizing a real event that is coming up like a business meeting, a difficult conversation, an interview, a cold call you have to make. If what you’re imagining may be along event, visualize the beginning and the ending at least. Imagine how the other person or people will react to you. Imagine how you will feel. Visualize the ideal outcome of the interaction at least once a day until the event. Feel the joy of success. Believe in your visualization and it will happen as you see it.
  3. Practice being a VisionSageTM. Write current questions that you have on separate pieces of paper and fold them in fourths. Choose one piece of paper and ask yourself to provide you with helpful information. Write whatever comes to mind. Open the piece of paper and see the questions. Any helpful information here?

Intuition and imagination are bridges to your inner self. When you feel in touch with your intuition and creative ability to manifest your dream life you will make decisions feeling empowered with a more magnificent view of your true potential.

I teach all these techniques for turning confusion and opportunities into clear vision during my one-month “Releasing Your Blocks and Empowering Your Success” teleseminar program. You can try it for one month or two months or more. You intuit what is right for you. You decide how much practice and guidance you need to ignite your inner visionary!

    Melissa,
I love these exercises. I just did the first one and got some great information that is relevant to some decisions I am making in my life right now.

As an expressive arts psychotherapist, I know the power of spontaneously choosing images from a magazine and allowing your subconscious mind to reveal itself.

I’m intrigued with the 3rd exercise and plan to try that tomorrow after I’ve had some good sleep. Each of us truly has within us what we need to move forward. Thank you for providing some bridges for us to access that information!

    Many blessings to you,
    Marcia Breitenbach

Marcia, I’m so glad to hear of your insightful results. So often we complicate things and how we get the answers to our life questions is often of those things. Please let me know how exercise #3 works for you. Happy intuiting!!

What People Say

The openness of doing the board that I wanted appealed to me. I paid attention to Melissa’s advice about ‘What You Notice Matters!’ and loved what my dream board showed me about my future. You are a fabulous human being. Thank you Melissa!”
