Get Life Balance Using Visuals and Visualization

on June 30, 2008 at 8:00 am filed under Empowered Awareness, Featured Posts

I admit it. I get caught up in my endless list of tasks and sometimes forget how valuable visualization is to restoring balance. In fact, 20-30 seconds of powerful imagining can inject some much need joy into your conscious mind, feed your heart and enlighten your spirit.

Try one the following steps when you find yourself getting too caught up in one area of your
life and need to send balanced emotional energy out into the world.

  1. Picture Your Mind-set. Pick up a magazine
and quickly select two or three pictures that capture
your attention. Then spend two to five minutes writing
about what the pictures shows you or tells you. Keep it
intuitive, writing down all that jumps into your mind.
This should help you to connect to a personal truth or
a new realization that is important to your life path.
  2. Visualize joy. For at least 30 seconds
imagine a scene that fills you with joy. Let the
happiness build in your body. Feel your energy
expanding. You might imagine winning the
lottery, hitting the one-million mark for your business,
the birth of a child, an awe-inspiring moment on an
exotic journey, or helping others in a tremendously
fulfilling way. This should connect all your parts of
yourself: mind to body and heart and heart
to spirit. Coming to your powerful center like this can
help keep you grounded in your daily activities.
  3. Intentionally direct your energy to a neglected
    life area
. Schedule it that’s the only way to make it
happen. Take time to exercise for 30 minutes, water
the garden, meditate for 10 minutes, read a chapter in
a book, chat with a friend in person or on the phone,
take time to make a nourishing and delicious
    meal.

What People Say

The openness of doing the board that I wanted appealed to me. I paid attention to Melissa’s advice about ‘What You Notice Matters!’ and loved what my dream board showed me about my future. You are a fabulous human being. Thank you Melissa!”
