The Randy Pausch Example: Finding Your Bliss by Living Each Moment Fully

What you notice matters! And what I’ve noticed is that we powerfully respond to people who live with great heart!
Randy Pausch of “The Last Lecture” fame, who recently passed away, was a bright light of joyful living. He just knew how to have fun. More than that he didn’t know how not to have fun!
He exemplified how to embrace each moment. For Randy, each moment was powerfully alive with potential.
When Diane Sawyer asked him to name his best moment of the day, he replied: “I don’t know. The day’s not over yet.”
Even as he mourned that he was going to die young, he lived brightly and with the belief that great and wondrous experiences were yet to be lived and he was going to enjoy it all.
Randy Pausch is a great example of letting your light shine as brightly as possible — which means following your dreams.
In the speech he gave this past May to the graduation class at Carnegie Mellon, he emphasized that happiness doesn’t come in following the money trail. It comes from being in being in touch with what you’re passionate about and it comes from the meaningful people connections in your life. When your focus becomes wanting and helping others to be happy, you’ve found your bliss.
May you all find the joy contained in each moment. May you all live led by your dreams!
